It has been a long time since I've posted anything.
There are a few reasons why.
The day after my last post, I started a new job as a Marketing Manager. Things are going extremely well, I'm very happy where I am. But... (There's always a but isn't there) It's a start-up, we're so busy. I have been writing a lot of copy for or collateral package, sell sheets, email, etc, etc... So much my head is spinning with words and I've had a hard time putting two words together for my own purposes.
The other reason is my running had not been going very well. And at a time when I should have reached out to my friends, asking for support, I hid in the corner hoping things would improve.
I have struggled on and off (mostly on) since the San Diego RnR Marathon more than a year ago. I fought my way through Goofy and felt a little better but couldn't find my groove. My plans for a spring marathon were thwarted by scheduling issues and it just didn't happen.
I registered early for Chicago and was really looking forward to it. But by the beginning of August things were falling apart and I knew it. However, the hotel was paid for, the flight was booked, oh, and if you didn't know, I'm stubborn.
I arrived in Chicago a little under-trained.

ReplyDeleteYes please do Maddy - and don't forget - it's the humans we like.. We all feel this way sometimes!
ReplyDeleteYep, I think we have all been there...and we are here for you!!! Tell the rest of the story when you have time - or better yet - lets meet for a run and coffee!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy story this fall is similar. Newport was a shipwreck.
ReplyDeleteI was coaxed to run 10 miles this morning and I actually felt great when it was over. I have enough base that I'm debating doing 15 next week and then taper for the Space Coast Marathon on November 28. Newport was a training run for Space Coast. Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
