The past few weeks have been a wild ride. My son, Stone, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He spent 4 days in the hospital and is now on a daily insulin injection schedule.
Things are adjusting to the new normal, and Stone will be fine as long as he does what the doctor says.
I am thankful for the incredible support we have received from the running community. Lots of encouragement, kind words, thoughts and prayers. It is all appreciated!
One of the kindest things that was done was a plan hatched by my coach, Speedy Sasquatch. He called me the 3rd day Stone was in the hospital and said he was dedicating his Boston Marathon to Stone and would be raising money for the JDRF. I was touched. Moved to tears actually.
If you would like to contribute to the cause, you can: href="http://jdrfevents.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.eventDetails&eventID=945

I had never heard of the JDRF, are they a diabetes research group? I have lots of friends with diabetes and would like to help out, so maybe I'll look into them and make a donation to help out. Thanks for the info.
